I can make my own decisions! You know how I am. You know I won’t do anything stupid. Danny has a brilliant, funny, fresh monologue. Danny and the Deep Blue Sea by John Patrick Shanley. Sure, I’ll tell you where I’m gong, but if I want to hangout with my friends, I’ll do it for Christ’s sake! I’m 18 years old, mom. Baron has selected some of the very best dramatic monologues for men to consider. I’m not going to keep asking if I can hangout with my friends anymore, and you’re going to stop expecting me to. I want to love and embrace life and all it has to offer! I want to run and explore and feel the sunlight on my back! I’m practically an adult, and I expect to be treated like one. I could NEVER perform this monologue at the level Timothe did, but I gave it a shot. I need to start living it and start making my own decisions. I watched ‘Miss Stevens’ and Timothe Chalamet did this monologue. Do you even know who I am? You’ve known me 18 years mom, 18 years! And still I don’t think you know anything about me! I’ve changed! I told you I’d be out late and would come home late. Similar to Biff Loman, this boy wants to have a life that he can call his own. And to not live in anyone else’s shadow or live up to their expectations. In my response, I am writing from the viewpoint of a teenager who is finally explaining to his mom that he is not a kid anymore and wants to grow up and be treated like an adult. Basically, he finally confronts his narcissistic dad about how he’s tired of living in his shadow and basically states that he, himself, is nothing and wasn’t mean to live an abundant life, and instead, a plain and simple one.

Millers Death of a Salesman, and A to mention only works of. I am writing today in response to a monologue from “Death of a Salesman” (a monologue I’m actually currently working on for a college audition). A look at the functions of soliloquy and monologue on stage and in narrative theory should.
